故事发生在广袤而又美丽的内蒙古科尔沁草原之上，瘦弱胆小的嘎达常常遭到同龄人的欺负，只有善良而又美丽的小姑娘牡丹一直保护和支持着他。随着时间的推移，两颗天真无邪的心渐渐相互靠近，萌发了懵懂的爱意，然而不久之后，牡丹跟随着家人离开了大草原，离开了嘎达。
