Malcon是迈阿密日报的记者。当地发生一起谋杀案，由他负责报道。而凶手竟然主动打电话联系他，并告知凶手的后续杀人计划。同时，凶手一边不断杀人，一边不断打电话给Malcon，并告知其情况。此事引起警方高度重视的同时，也引起当地媒体的热播，Malcon变得家喻户晓。凶手此时却又迁怒于他，因为凶手的本意在于通过Malcon的报道，引起公众的重视，现在反而Malcon“喧宾夺主”。而另一方面，Malcon的女朋友Christine对此也极为不满，认为Malcon在帮助凶手……。Hardin portrays romance novelist Emilia, described as a whirlwind who blows back into the lives of her adult children, Taylor (McNamara) and Zach (Lloyd-Jones), under the pretense of a book signing arranged by her hometown's local book shop.
